How Covid has affected me and my business

Let’s be real, it is tough. I am a person that loves to go out and am usually bee bopping all over town. I have been single my whole life so being alone is not new for me. Not being allowed to be close to people that I love is extremely challenging. Zoom is great, but it does not replace real life connections.

As a single female entrepreneur, my struggles include, figuring out how to pay my bills without any support. This is something that I struggle with every day no matter what is going on. One of the many challenges of being an entrepreneur is adjusting constantly and figuring out what makes sense for my business.

As a solo entrepreneur so far everything that I applied for, I am not eligible for so there is that, figuring out how to readapt my business so that I do get some money and can continue to bake and connect virtually with my students and family and friends as often as possible.

I have struggled in my life in many ways and I have always come out with a different path, a different mindset and more badass than ever before.

I know this chaos, fear, uncertain future that lies ahead can take me down some days and that is ok. Life will always throw challenges. This is one that none of us expected. No one knows where we will end up.

The positives of COVID are that I am healthy, continuing to find ways to continue to connect with family and friends and my students as often and as safely as possible.

I am still baking (even more than usual if at all possible). I am connecting with students all over the world now thanks to my virtual classes and I am once again, finding a new normal for my business.

I am grateful to all of you that have been supporting me and to those of you that have just found me, I am so happy you are here.

We are all stronger than we think most of the time, we just have to convince or remind ourselves that we will overcome this. Baking helps, connecting through social media, on zoom, through emails and texts helps and a friend reminded me yesterday to call each other more often. We are all busy, but we also need to remember to keep up with the people that mean the most.

Stay safe and thank you sooo much for all of your support. Keep your head up and when you are down and out, let it go and keep on keeping on. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime to say hello, share a thought or let me know how you are handling everything.

xoxo
