Jumping in full force!

This month is my last month that I will have a part time job. It has been 3 years and 3 months since I left my full time Pastry Chef job at the Cleveland Museum of Art. I had no idea what I was going to do when I left. I had burned out of the business and realize now how I had mentally checked out way before I actually left.

The restaurant/food world is extremely challenging. You are pretty much secluded to the kitchen rarely see daylight, friends and family, you miss holidays, birthdays, sleep, rarely do you see your customers or get any feedback on your food. You work till things get done, that meant too many days that I can count that were 15 hours or longer. It takes a toll on you physically and mentally.

The restaurant world taught me amazing things. I learned how to work in a fast paced environment, I learned how to create thousands of desserts in sometimes 24 hours or less. I learned what worked and didn’t work. I also gained a ton of confidence, expertise and expanded my creativity. It truly has made me the Badass baker that I am.

When pushed to the limits, I excelled. I needed the push. I was afraid of exploring new things and would stick with what I was comfortable doing.

I left with no plan. I left because I had to start over, reignite my passion and figure out what the next chapter would be in my life.

Since leaving, I have worked as a Barista at Startbucks, I worked at Lola Bistro as a Pastry Cook, I was a nanny and for the last year and a half, I have been a tea blender.

It is time for me to focus on my business and take a leap once again. September 30th is my last day with Storehouse Tea.

As I leap again, fear is always creeping in. I do this alone. I have no 401K to cash in, no spouse to support me physically or back me up with my finances. My bank account is extremely slim. I have learned that there is never a good time to jump. There will always be a reason not do something right now. I have faith that this is the right time.

I have the drive, the passion, the emotional support of my friends and family and of course the best students ever!

I am anxious, excited, nervous and ready for this ride.

Thank you as always for your support! It definitely helps push me to keep on keeping on. I cannot wait to see you this fall/winter and 2020 already has AMAZING things in the works!

My full class schedule in on my website. Private parties are booking quickly and I am always adding new classes.
