Meet Annie!
Hi, I’m Annie! I’m a professionally trained Pastry Chef, baking instructor, and founder of Annie’s Signature Sweets in Berea, Ohio. My love for baking started as a teenager with cookies, banana bread, and muffins-but I was always too intimidated to bake outside of my comfort zone. After graduating from Kent State University and beginning a career in social work, I decided at 29 to take a chance and turn my love of sweets into a career.I enrolled at Johnson & Wales University, where I earned my Associate Degree in Baking & Pastry Arts. From there, I spent a decade working in restaurants and resorts across the country, gaining experience with everything from breads and pastries to plated desserts, ice creams, sauces, and more. Eventually, I knew I wanted something different while still keeping pastry at the center of my career. At 40, I took my biggest leap yet and started Annie’s Signature Sweets. Six months later, I began teaching baking classes-and found exactly where I was meant to be.
Making Baking Fun
Today, I’ve taught more than 1,300 baking classes, both locally and virtually, helping students become more confident in the kitchen. My classes are different because everyone bakes individually. No group work and no standing around watching someone else do the fun part! You’ll create your own signature sweets from scratch, learn along the way, and take home everything you make. Whether you’re an experienced baker or picking up a piping bag for the first time, my goal is simple: make baking fun, approachable, and something you feel confident doing on your own.
