Annie's Review of 2022

2022 has been quite the year. The year of many ups and downs, the most challenges I have ever faced as a business owner, and to be honest, the year my business pretty much tanked.

I expected this business to struggle in 2020 and I feel like I did ok, thanks to being able to adjust to going virtual and being able to keep up with the business.

I know every business struggles and having 1 bad year, does not define you, however it has definitely weighed down on me heavily. 2022 has been beyond tricky. Endless sleepless nights, constantly being told to quit, being rejected from all the programs that are set out to help you because I didn’t make enough, didn't have enough staff, didn’t qualify for one thing or another. It has been nearly impossible to keep my head up through it all. On top of all that, still looking for a kitchen for a year and half and not being able to have a “home” for my business has meant constantly turning down business or having people turn away because they cannot find a place to walk in the door to.

I do my best to keep on going and keep on going and I have been pushing to find something, find help, find resources, but 1 person can only do so much. It’s been a struggle beyond words.

I have seen businesses end for one reason or another and I am just not ready to do that. I a pretty much rebuilding the business from the ground up again and I am giving it all that I have to keep this business. I know that this is what I am meant to do for a living and I will find a way.

You keep me going and pushing and I am going to be baking no matter what the next thing will be for me is.

As I plan for 2023, I really hope that you continue to support small businesses, especially mine. I won't bore you with the nitty gritty details of really went down in 2022, but I am still here, I am still baking and I am still so damn passionate about Teaching.
